Adapt Events transformed an underused area outside Wigan Warriors’ stadium into an engaging Fan Zone with screens and simulators, to encourage social media sign-ups before key matches.

VENUE ENHANCEMENT
Our client Wigan Warriors was keen to engage with fans to further strengthen its social media channels, which have proved to be very effective.
We arranged a site visit to the DW Stadium before the start of the 2017 new season. This was helpful as the basis for creating a new Fan Zone – and we immediately decided to focus on the walkway from the main car park, which sees over 50% of all footfall to the stadium and its immediate surrounding area.
We created a branded walkway and welcome archway, to act as a beacon for fans heading towards the stadium. Then, to give fans a reason to stay, we added a giant inflatable Fan Hub, to be used throughout the season.
The hub has been used for various activities, including a rugby simulator challenge; photographs taken with Super League and World Champions trophies, presented in a souvenir folder; and meet-the-legends autographs, book signings and personalised photographs.
LED SCREENS
To enhance the Fan Zone experience, we hired a 70ft LED screen to show various content, such as previous games’ highlights and the players’ half-time challenge footage – and we even broadcasted a live U19 game that was taking place nearby.
