HALF-TIME CHALLENGE: TEN BALLS, ONE TARGET

Adapt Events had a short five-minute window at half time to provide entertainment for Wigan Warriors rugby league fans. We wanted to devise a game that was challenging and rewarding – and one that fans from all parts of the stadium could see and engage with.

We created a challenge using a large branded inflatable (7ftx7ft). Entry to the competition was via Twitter, with two fans selected to take part in each home game. The contestants were allowed 10 attempts to kick the ball into a single target area. The scores and times were recorded, with the prize for the all-season winner being a VIP trip to the Super League Final, including overnight accommodation.

Before the challenge game was first introduced at a live match, we tried it out at Wigan Warriors’ training ground. We filmed the players taking on the challenge and the results were broadcast via Wigan Warriors TV and their social media channels.

To keep fans up to date, we also created a leader board, which we posted on social media and also at the Wigan Warriors stadium, via the big screens.
